摘 要:组织学生对烟台景区英文公示语进行实地考查,系统分析其存在的问题及原因,以期实现对翻译教学的有益补充。烟台景区公示语英译的错误主要包括语言形式不规范、语义失误、语用失误和翻译缺失四大类型。原因在于市政及景区管理部门对公示语英译的重要性认识不足,缺乏标准化管理,翻译人员责任意识淡薄,翻译水平较低。对翻译教学的启示:侧重翻译技巧的灵活运用,注重跨文化语用能力的培养,增强译者的职业道德和责任心。By organizing students to conduct on-site investigations of English public signs in the main scenic spots in Yantai,the paper systematically analyzes the English translation problems and the reasons,aiming to provide a useful supplement to translation teaching.The errors in the English translation of public signs include four types:nonstandard use in language forms,semantic errors,pragmatic errors,and lack of translation.The reasons reside in lack of awareness of the importance of English translation of public signs in municipal and scenic area management departments,lack of unified standard management,weak sense of translators responsibility,and low level of translation.The implications are that translation teaching should focus on flexible use of translation skills,cultivation of cross-cultural pragmatic competence,and enhancement of professional ethics and sense of responsibilities.
