摘　　要：高等教育的目的除了培养学生的知识和技能外,还要为学生树立良好的人格,对其价值取向进行正确的引导。高校英语课程发挥着语言的工具性和人文性两个职能。在教导学生掌握其工具性职能,了解外语文化的同时,母语文化亦不能缺失。高校外语课堂的改革需要加强母语文化和思政的影响力。“新编实用英语”第四版第一册第六单元作为教学实践主题,从课程目标的设定,教学内容的选取,教学活动的展开以及教学效果的评价都体现了将高校思政工作引入英语课堂是可行且必要的。The purpose of college education is to establish an upright personality and train a positive value for students,apart from teach knowledge and skills for them.College English course has instrumental and cultural functions.While teaching students to grasp English instrumental function and master English culture,the culture of mother tongue shouldn’t be lost.So the reform of college English course needs to enhance the influence of Chinese culture as well as ideological and political education.Unit 6 of book 1 of"New Practical English",the fourth section,is the subject of this teaching reform.The setting of goals,the choice of teaching contents,the implement of teaching activities and the evaluation of teaching efficiency reveal that ideological and political education in college English teaching is feasible and necessary.
