摘　　要：《体验性心智、意义与理性:我们的身体如何产生理解》是体验哲学和认知语言学的开创人物之一Mark Johnson的最新专著。该书首先系统回顾并评价了杜威的心智、思维与语言理论、詹姆斯的意识范围观和美国语用主义及认知生物主义等相关研究,在此基础上详细阐释了身体的意义及身体感知,意象图式的哲学重要性,行为、体验意义以及思维等体验哲学关涉的核心内容,分析了体验实在论和真值具身论,并最终回答“身体何以重要”这一体验哲学的本源性问题,具有极为重要的哲学和语言学研究价值。Embodied Mind Meaning and Reason How Our Bodies Give Rise to Understanding,written by Mark Johnson—one of the founders of embodied philosophy and cognitive linguistics,is a newly rep-resentative masterpiece in the research of embodied philosophy.The book starts with reviewing of and commenting on Dewey's theory of mind,thought and language,William James's theory of the range of consciousness and related studies of American pragmatism and the cognitive organism.Then it elabo-rates the key concepts of embodied philosophy in detail,namely the meaning of the body,the philo-sophical significance of image schemas,action,embodied meaning and thought.Followed by the a-nalysis of embodied realism and truth incarnate,the book finally concludes with answering the philo-sophical fundamental question of why the body matters.The book is of crucial significance in the study of both philosophy and linguistics.
