摘　　要：终身学习是社会发展的必然趋势和要求,图书馆应在终身学习中发挥重要作用。对中国知网《中国期刊全文数据库》"图书情报与数字图书馆"类目和美国Library,Information Science&Technology Abstracts(《图书情报学与技术文摘库》)中有关终身学习研究论文中的终身学习定义及相关主题进行了综合分析,并从制定或采用终身学习定义、发挥图书馆信息素养教育职能、履行传统桥梁作用、参与学校终身学习课程体系建设和发挥终身学习馆员作用等方面,讨论了图书馆应该在终身学习中发挥的作用。Lifelong learning is an inevitable trend and demand for social development and library should play an im⁃portant role in lifelong learning.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis on the definition and related topics of lifelong learning research papers in the“Library Information and Digital Library”category of“Chinese Journal Full-text Database”in CNKI and the American Library,Information Science&Technology Abstracts,discusses the role that libraries should play in lifelong learning from the following aspects of formulating or adopting the definition of lifelong learning,giving play to the functions of library information literacy education,fulfilling the role of traditional bridge,participating in the con⁃struction of school lifelong learning curriculum system and playing the role of lifelong learning librarian.
