摘　　要：翻译理论是对翻译现象的反思和再反思。它在科学认识和社会实践方面具有多重价值:对翻译主体而言,理论有助于突破自身经验局限,提高翻译实践能力,缩短进入职业角色的适应期,塑造译者的身份与形象,改善翻译的社会地位;对翻译学科而言,理论是学科建设的基础,是知识积累、传承和更新的必要途径;对相关学科而言,翻译理论日益显现出其跨学科价值,有助于提升翻译学的学术话语权。后理论时代,翻译理论研究面临诸多挑战,如变化的翻译现实与保守的翻译观念之间的矛盾,翻译的工具性与人文性之间的张力,翻译理论生产和消费过程中乱象丛生等,但同时也为居于边缘地位的理论话语走向中心提供了契机。Translation theories are further reflections of translation phenomena.Epistemologically and practically,the value of transla-tion theories is multifold.Firstly,theories help translators to look beyond their personal experience,enhance their translationcompetence and shorten the transitional period from trainees to professionals.They can also build translators’identity and imageand increase their social status.Secondly,theories are essential to the institutionalization of translation studies(TS)and the ac-cumulation,inheritance and renewal of professional knowledge.Thirdly,translation theories shed lights on some interdisciplinarystudies,which is conducive to the enhancement of the discursive power of TS.In the post-theoretical era,TS faces many challen-ges,such as the conflicts between the changing landscapes and the conservative ideas of translation,the tension between the in-strumentalism and the humanism,and the chaos in the production and consumption of translation theories.Nevertheless,it offersa golden opportunity for some discourses to move from the periphery to the center.
