功能对等理论视角下《山海经》中医病症名词英译研究

摘　　要：目的通过对《山海经》中医病症名词英译的整理和分析,来探求如何将中医文化更好地传播出去,促进读者对中医药文化的理解和接受。方法本论文以功能对等理论为研究视角,选取从《山海经》中整理出来的比较难处理的病症名词翻译作为切入点来研究中医文化的英译,分析比较《山海经》2个最新的英文全译本—安妮·比勒尔1999年的译本和王宏2010年的译本,总结《山海经》中的中医药病症名词的英译现状,并根据功能对等理论提出直译,意译和音译的英译策略。结果王宏和比勒尔的译本各有异同,也皆有不足。结论在功能对等理论的指导下,应突破形式的限制,灵活运用直译、意译和音译等翻译策略,使读者更易于接受。Objective To explore the way of cultural diffusion and improve the understanding and acceptance of Chinese Medicine culture,the thesis sorted out and analyzed the English translation of the Chinese medicine syndrome nouns from The Classic of Mountains and Seas.Methods The thesis picked out the translation of disease nouns from The Classic of Mountains and Seas as an entry point to study the English translation of Chinese medicine culture from the perspective of functional equivalence theory.It analyzed and compared the two latest English versions of The Classic of Mountains and Seas-Anne Birrell’s 1999 translation and Wang Hong’s 2010 translation,summarized the English translation of the Chinese medicine syndrome nouns in The Classic of Mountains and Seas,and analyzed them from the perspective of word-for-word translation,free translation and transliteration based on the functional equivalence theory.Results There were similarities and differences in the two translations,and deficiencies as well.Conclusion Under the guidance of the functional equivalence theory,it is better not to be limited by the format,but to apply the translation strategy flexibly to make the text clearer and more acceptable.
