从“天下”的英译看中华思想文化术语翻译的实践原则

摘　　要：“天下”具有典型的“思想文化术语”的复杂性,在概念认识、符号表征和语境交际三个维度上具有多重特性。对“天下”的英译涉及到中华思想文化术语翻译的实践原则,需要基于文化交往与沟通实践理性,秉持术语概念层面的传“真”,语言表征层面的合“理”与语境交际层面的向“善”原则。“天下”目前的英译尚有进一步提升的空间。“Tianxia”is a typical complicated term in Chinese thought and culture,with multiple charac⁃teristics in conceptual understanding,symbolic representation and contextual communication.The English translation of“Tianxia”involves the practice principles of translating the terms in Chinese thought and cul⁃ture.Guided by cultural communication and practical rationality,the principles of“sincerity”in conceptual understanding,“rationality”in linguistic representation and“goodness”in contextual communication should be applied,which will contribute to the diversity of world civilization and its peaceful development.There is still more room for further improvement of the English translation of“Tianxia”.
