摘　　要：上海格致书院是近代中国创立的一个讲求格致之学的新型书院,它最早对矿业教育大力倡导并始终格外重视。格致书院旨在培养有职业技能的人才,将矿业教育视为专业教育,强调理论知识与实际的结合,并实行职业资格证书制度,体现出职业教育的特征。格致书院将西方职业教育理念较早介绍到中国,为中国近代职业教育的诞生铺平了道路。Gezhi Academy was a new type of academy founded in modern China,which advocated mining education and always attached great importance to it.Gezhi College aimed to cultivate talents with vocational skills.It regarded mining education as professional education,emphasized the combination of theoretical knowledge and practice,and implemented the vocational qualification certificate system,reflecting the characteristics of vocational education.Gezhi Academy introduced the western concept of vocational education to China earlier and paved the way for the birth of modern vocational education in China.
