摘 要:本文在系统功能语法理论视角下,以霍金有关“黑洞”的两个文本为例,研究同一科学家的科普著作与科学著作在概念、人际、语篇层面的特征及对应关系。通过描写和分析发现,面向大众读者的科普语篇并非对科学语篇的简化或通俗化处理。作者在科普语篇中打破了科学语篇环环相扣的推理链条,将语义范围更广的语法隐喻析解为意义潜势更为有限的一致性表述,将科学语篇建构的意义重新构建为大众读者能够识解的经验,使他们从另一种命题表达中构建出与科学语篇的专业读者相似但明显不同的心理模型。这一事实说明,科学语篇是对科学探索过程的重构,而科普语篇是对重构的重构。From the theoretical perspective of systemic functional grammar,this paper pays attention to two texts by Hawking on the concept of black hole and studies the features of popular science discourse and scientific discourse by the same scientist on the ideational,interpersonal and textual levels as well as their corresponding relationship.According to description and analysis,popular science discourse targeting at the general public is not simplification of scienti’ic discourse.The scientist breaks in the popular science discourse the interlocking chain of reason built in the scientific discourse,unpacks the semantically ambiguous grammatical metaphors as congruent expressions with more limited meaning potentials and reconstructs the meaning in the scientific discourse as experience construable by lay readers,who construct from another type of proposition in the popular science discourse a mental model totally different from that constructed by professional readers of the scientific discourse.The research shows that scientific discourse is reconstruction of scientific exploration while popular science discourse reconstructs the reconstruction.
