摘  要:长难句因包含词汇数目多、结构复杂、层次纷纭等特征使得多数学生难以理解,其翻译处理更成为国家各类英语考试中的“软肋”。此外,学生很少意识到中英文间的语言差异,并缺少相对明确的标准以形成对译文的自我评估。针对上述问题,本文立足于功能对等理论,采用案例分析的方法对大学英语长难句的句型和结构进行研究,阐述汉语和英语的语言特征,归纳出逆序法、分译法、综合法、合并法、括号法及增词法和减词法等实用的翻译方法,旨在为学生的翻译学习提供一定的帮助。Due to vocabulary range,complicated structures and multiple levels,the long and difficult sentence is hard to comprehend for most students.Meanwhile,relevant translation assignments turn to be their disadvantage when they take part in various English test.Besides,students are barely aware of the differences between Chinese and English and lack specific standards relatively for translation work in the self-evaluation.Therefore,the functional equivalence theory is set as the foundation and a research on the sentence pattern and structure of long and difficult sentences is conducted by the method of case study.With the statement on the features of Chinese and English,methods including inversion,division,integration,amalgamation,the use of parenthesis mark,amplification and omission are summarized to help students form translation strategies of high quality.
