摘　　要：《中国丛报》是十九世纪由美国人裨治文在中国创办的一份很有影响力的英文期刊,这份刊物陆续译介了一批中国历史人物,包括政治人物、儒学名家和历史学家。译者采取介绍和评论相结合的方式,兼及译介中国文化典籍。这些译介是当时西方人了解中国历史的重要途径,体现了译介者的西方视角和宗教动机,同时也存有一些错误。Chinese Repository,an English magazine started by E.C.Bridgman in China in the 19th century,published about a dozen articles on translation of Chinese historical figures.The historical figures included Chinese statesmen,famous Confucians and historians.Authors of the articles introduced,translated and commented on these figures,and translated Chinese classics at the time.As an important channel for westerners to understand Chinese history,these translations reflected the western perspective and religious motive of their authors,while some mistakes still existed in them.
