摘 要:在《格萨尔》的百年英译历程中,译本大都以节译、编译、创译的形式出现,科恩曼英译本独辟蹊径,采用藏英对照、以诗译诗的传统翻译方式,诗意地展现了《格萨尔》史诗的原本面貌,这是在时代呼唤之下出现的忠实于原作内容风格、展现原作精神的全译本。挖掘科恩曼英译本的结构与内容、风格与特色,分析译者的文化语境处理和翻译倾向,对于我们结合当下民族志的深厚翻译理论、表演理论,打造《格萨尔》史诗英译的理想范本有重要的启发意义,在一定程度上也能为中国少数民族文化“走出去”提供理论范式。During the course of English translation of Gesar in the past century,most of the translated versions appear in the form of abridgment,compilation and re-creation. However,Kornman blazes a new trail in the English version of Gesar,employing the traditional means of translation that features Tibetan-English contrast and poetic translation. In this connection,he unfolds the original features of Gesar in a poetic manner and creates a complete translation version which is faithful to the original content and style and reveals the spirit of the original. When it comes to forging a the oretical model for the English translation of Gesar epic under ‘thick translation theory’ and ‘performance theory’ of contemporary ethnography,we can gain insight and enlightenment by studying the structure,content,style and distinctive features in the English version of Kornman and analyzing how translator deal with the cultural context and the translation tendency. To some extent,this can provide a theoretical paradigm for the "going out"of Chinese minority culture.
