摘　　要：霍布恩是英国著名汉学家、翻译家,《水浒传》的苏格兰盖尔语译本译者,其在中国诗歌英译领域译作颇丰、成就斐然。霍布恩对中国诗歌的译介起始于古诗文,后以中国现当代的朦胧诗为主;他译介的古诗词大量被收录进牛津翻译家词典,他英译杨炼的诗歌也为杨炼名扬英语世界做出了巨大贡献。此外,他的译介理念不仅引起了国内译界的深思,也对新时代背景下中国文学“走出去”具有一定的启示意义。Brian Holton is a famous British sinologist and translator who has translated Water Margin from Chinese into Scottish.He has been a great success in the field of English translation of Chinese Poetry.Though Holton’s translation journey begins with Chinese ancient masterpieces,his fruitful works are dominated by Chinese contemporary poetry translation.A large number of Holton’s English translations of Chinese ancient poems are included in the Oxford Translator’s Dictionary.And,as the most important English translator for Yang Lian,Holton’s excellent translation contributes a lot to Yang’s fame in the English-speaking world.Additionally,Brian Holton’s translation philosophy,to a certain extent,gives domestic translation circle some real insights into the“go global”strategy of Chinese literature in the new era.
