杭州将台山南观音洞供养人题记与造像  

Inscriptions of the Patrons and Related Statues in the South Guanyin Cave of Jiangtai Mountain in Hangzhou

摘　　要：杭州将台山南观音洞为长江中下游地区罕见的佛道并存洞窟,是13世纪初南宋临安府宗教活动的一个切面。通过将台山南观音洞窟17方题刻和1条墨书的叙录与洞窟相关考察,初步判定供养人身份及相关造像信息。窟内造像始凿于南宋开禧元年(1205)二月,当年已完成洞窟南北壁首层主体罗汉群像及第二层的太乙救苦天尊等像,供养人有南宋宫廷文武官吏、普通佛教信众与道教正一盟弟子等。明代民间供养人施造了观音菩萨与佛陀等像,多分布在洞窟的第二、三层,清代仍有续造。本洞是已知唯一有南宋临安府宫廷官吏参与资助的洞窟,南宋刊刻造像时,佛道造像的供养人之间有一定的默契。The South Guanyin Cave of Jiangtai Mountain in Hangzhou was a rare cave sharing the coexistence of Buddhism and Taoism in the south of the Yangtze River.It was an aspect of the religious activities of Lin’an in the Southern Song dynasty at the beginning of the 13 th century.Through the description and related investigation of 17 engraved and 1 handwritten inscriptions in the South Guanyin Cave of Jiangtai Mountain,the identities of the patrons and the information of the related statues can be preliminarily determined.The statues in the cave were carved starting from February of the first year of Kaixi Reign in the Southern Song dynasty(1205 A.D.),and in the same year,the statues of the major arhats group of the north and south walls on the first floor and the statue of Taiyi Tianzun(a deity in Taoism) of the south wall on the second floor were completed.The patrons included Southern Song officials,ordinary Buddhist followers and Taoists of Zhengyi Meng.The patrons of the Ming dynasty created statues of Guanyin Bodhisattva and Buddha,which were mostly distributed on the second and third floors of the cave.And the efforts continued in the Qing dynasty.This was the only cave that was known to have the participation of court officials in Lin’an in the Southern Song dynasty.When the inscriptions were engraved and the statues were carved in the Southern Song dynasty,there was a certain tacit understanding between the patrons of Buddhism and those of Taoism.
