摘　　要：文章充分利用各类史料,详考上海国民大学图书馆学系的办学始末、师资力量、教学情况、办学成绩、办学特色等。文章指出,该系仅仅持续了三个学期,未能完整地培养出一届毕业生,但它却是中国第二个正规的高校图书馆学教育机构,在中国图书馆学教育史上占有重要地位。On the basis of historical materials,including newspapers,journals,and university magazines,this paper makes a critical study of the history of Department of Library Science of Shanghai National University,especially its beginning and ending,faculty,curricula,teaching practices,academic achievements and unique characteristics.It points out that,although lasting for only three semesters and failing to cultivate any graduates,the department was the second of its kind offering library science program in China,and thus occupied an important position in the history of library science education in China.
