摘　　要：土木工程英语是具有很强实践性的专业英语。长期以来,由于学习者或译者对其语言体系构成及特征缺乏充分的认识,及对相关领域专业知识的欠缺,导致翻译得不精准,有时甚至是误译。本文着重探讨土木工程英语语言体系构成特征,旨在探讨土木工程英语的研究方向和翻译方法,以期促进翻译水平的提高。Civil Engineering English is a professional language with highly practical nature.For a long time,due to learners and interpreters’lack of full and proper understanding of composition and characteristics of the language system and lack of professional knowledge in interrelated fields,the translation concerning civil engineering is rendered inaccurate and inadequate,sometimes even fully wrong.This paper focuses on discussing constituting characteristics of civil engineering English aiming to explore the research direction and translation method concerned.The ultimate purpose is to improve the translation quality.
