摘　　要：本文主要分析了福楼拜小说《包法利夫人》中关于三封信件的叙述,讨论这些叙述如何呈现人物的性格命运并贯穿起小说的核心情节,以此为基础理解小说叙述所包含的对人类语言文学的隐喻及反思。如果说小说中爱玛的信显示出用语言模仿他人和自欺的性质,他的情人罗道耳弗的信则隐喻着操纵语言欺骗他人的性质;卢欧老爹的信更为复杂,它虽然是个体真实情感的表达,但由于其自我书写的特质,这种语言引起共情,却无法带来真正的认知。而福楼拜《包法利夫人》自身的写作,正是希望超越这三者,用文体的支撑反思语言的幻象和欺骗,让读者进入觉知与批判的模式,从而建立读者的自觉意识。This paper discusses how the letters in Flaubert's Madame Bovary play a role in constructing the narrative,and interprets the metaphors in these narrations about the letters.The letters of Emma represent her imitation of others and her self-deceiving writing,while the letter of her lover Rodolphe represents deception through the manipulation of language.The letter of Emma’s father is more complex:in contrast to the letters of Emma and of Rodolphe,it is the outpouring of one’s true feelings;but because of its nature of self-writing,its language evokes sympathy without revealing the truth.However,the writing of Madame Bovary,as opposed to these three styles of writing,helps to establish the critical consciousness of the readers through its presentation and reflection of the contradiction and deception of language with an impersonal perspective.
