摘　　要：“杂交水稻之父”袁隆平持续的科学创造力与巨大的国际影响力,在中国当代科学家中罕见。袁隆平为解决中国的粮食安全问题,为解决世界的粮食短缺问题,为水稻科技的原始创新与推广应用,连攀高峰,奋斗一生。他完美地实现了心怀“国之大者”、放眼世界、个人志趣三者的统一。超常的人生旨趣、全能的农学才华以及多重的机遇垂青,是促其成功的三大主要因素。作为农学大师,他还将多种宝贵品性集于一身——科学脑、人文心、农民体、诗人梦。Yuan Longping,the“father of hybrid rice”,had sustained creativity in scientific research and great international influence,which is rare among contemporary Chinese scientists.He,devoting all his life to increasing China’s food security and dealing with the world’s food shortage,made significant breakthroughs in the innovation and promotion of rice science and technology.He not only achieved his life goals but also demonstrated his concern for his country and the world.The three major factors that led to his success were unusual life purposes,exceptional talent in agriculture and multiple opportunities.He,a master in agriculture,possessed a scientist’s brain,a humanist’s heart,a farmer’s body and a poet’s dream.
