摘　　要：中国古典名著《红楼梦》中关于民俗文化的描写,展现了清代中叶社会各阶层的民俗风情,是外国人了解中国、认识中国的一个窗口。霍克斯译本运用归化、补偿和改写等翻译策略对《红楼梦》中的民俗文化进行的跨文化阐释,更易于目的语读者的理解和接受,为当前中华文化的翻译与对外传播提供了有益的启示。The description of folk culture in the Chinese classical masterpiece“The Story of the Stone”shows the folk customs of all levels of society in the middle of the Qing Dynasty.It is a window for foreigners to understand China.Hawkes’translation employed translation strategies,such as domestication,compensation and rewriting,to make a cross-cultural interpretation of the folk culture in this novel,which is easier for the target language readers to understand and accept,and provides useful enlightenment for the current translation and external communication of Chinese culture.
