摘　　要：目前,国内外出版的《格萨尔》史诗英译本共12个,在美国出版、再版和翻译的英译本有11个,美国在《格萨尔》史诗的英译与传播中扮演着重要角色。通过梳理《格萨尔》在美国的译介历程,发现其主要译介特点为:《格萨尔》的美国之旅始于单纯的文学翻译,后来受到宗教因素的影响,主要是北美藏传佛教的推动,使《格萨尔》的英译本呈现出较为明显的宗教色彩。这些英译本客观上促进了《格萨尔》史诗在英语世界的传播,从空间上拓展了史诗的生命,为国内的格萨尔学研究提供了新的素材。At present,there are 12 English versions of Gesar published at home and abroad,11 of which are published,reprinted and translated in the United States.The U.S.has played an important role in translating the great epic Gesar into English.This article sorts out the introduction and translation of Gesar in the United States and discovers the features of its introduction and translation:Gesar begins its journey in the U.S.merely as literary translation,but its translation is promoted by religious factors,that is,Tibetan Buddhism in North America,which to some extent has made the English versions of Gesar religious.These versions objectively have promoted the spread of Gesar in the English world,expanded the life of the epic in space and provided new materials for the study of Gesar in China as well.
