修辞视角下的英汉科技文本翻译策略

摘　　要：科技翻译具有交际翻译的功能,旨在促进高效的科学劝导与科学交流传播。科技译者应忠实于语篇的整体意义,灵活运用修辞手段实现此目的。本文从修辞视角出发讨论了若干翻译策略,指出科技译文应凸显逻辑、归化译语、消除冗赘、适当使用修辞格,以利于读者更准确地领会关键信息。译者还应善于综合运用中西修辞传统,追求译文的准确、清晰、逻辑严谨、富于活力。Scientific translation aims at promoting efficient scientific persuasion and communication.The translator should stay true to the overall meaning of the texts and flexibly make use of rhetorical devices to achieve this purpose.This paper discusses several translation strategies from a rhetorical perspective and proposes that scientific translation should be made logical,reader-friendly,and crystal clear.Metaphors and other figures of speech can be used to enhance accuracy and better understanding.In addition,a good translator should be adept at drawing from both Chinese and Western rhetorical traditions to pursue an optimized translation with clarity,precision,logic,and vitality.
