摘 要:中国文学文化外译是当今的重大议题,而对于其译者选择,长久以来众说纷纭。本研究以中国著名散文《匆匆》英译为例,收集五份译文,采用多维分析法,探讨母语译者(葛浩文)与非母语译者(朱纯深、张梦井、张培基与许景城)的语体异同。研究发现,母语译者译文的叙述性、指称明晰性、劝诱显性与抽象性更弱,且即席性与交互性更强,使用的名词与条件状语主从连词显著更少,动词、时间状语与WH-连接代词显著更多。汉英语言体系的差异、译者侧重传达信息和目的读者的不同,以及译者英语掌握水平的差别可能构成部分成因。Translating Chinese literary texts to introduce them to the world is a major issue,while opinions a-bound on the selection of translators.This study conducts multi-dimensional analysis of five translations of the renowned Chinese literary essay Rush and investigates the register differences and similarities between the native translator(Howard Goldblatt)and non-native translators(Zhu Chunshen,Zhang Mengjing,Zhang Peiji,and Xu Jingcheng).This paper finds that native translators tend to display weaker narrativity,overtness of persuasion and ab・stractness,less explicit reference,and stronger spontaneity and interactivity.In addition,the native translators use significantly less nouns and conditional adverbial subordinators and more verbs,time adverbials,and WH-pronouns.The difference between Chinese and English,translators,informational focus,their target readership,and their command of English may partly explain the difference in translator styles.
