英语普通词汇的科技化及其翻译——以纺织服装专业为例

摘　　要：科技英语中常有普通词汇术语化现象,但普通词汇成为术语之前常经历一个含义科技化过程,而且其科技化含义和科技化程度会因科技语境的不同而变化。本文阐释了普通词汇科技化和术语化现象及特点,结合笔者在纺织、服装、计算机等专业的翻译实践,说明纺织服装英语中科技化普通词汇翻译方法和技巧。Terminologization is common in scientific English.However,before the common words become technical terms,they usually experience a technical change process with different meanings reflecting different levels of term in different scientific contexts.In this paper the author elucidates technicalization and terminologization of common words in scientific English,and illustrates the skills and techniques of translating technicalized common words by citing examples from the fields of textile,clothing and computer science.
