摘　　要：本文梳理了20世纪著名的文学批评家、教育家F.R.利维斯在当代中国的接受过程及其背后的原因,并在此基础上对利维斯批评在中国学界的阶段性消长进行了历史性辨析,指出中国现代性的发展脉络决定了利维斯及其批评在不同历史发展阶段对于中国的价值与意义。This paper is a historical and analytical review of the reception of F.R.Leavis,the 20^(th) century English critic,in contemporary China.The background and causes of the ups and downs of such reception are closely examined in relation to the social-historical development of modern China.The paper points out that the impact and significance that F.R.Leavis and Leavisian criticism have on contemporary China corresponds with the social-historical changes and transformation of Chinese modernity.
