《雪山飞狐》莫慧娴译本中的中国侠义形象表征研究

摘　　要：作为金庸第一部被翻译成英文的作品,《雪山飞狐》不仅塑造了正义慷慨的侠客侠义形象,而且描绘了勇敢善良的平民侠义形象。因此,文章通过搜集侠义精神关键词的英译,描述侠客和平民侠义形象在英译本中的重构,进而考察中国侠义形象在英语世界的表征效果,并从作者、译者和出版社三个角度分析表征效果产生的原因。研究发现,译者在塑造本国形象时主要采取直译法和增译技巧,使中国侠义形象大多得以充分表征或超额表征,从而达到进一步传播中国侠义文化的目的。As the first English translation of Jin Yong’s works, Fox Volant of the Snowy Mountain depicts righteous and generous images of the knight-errants as well as valiant and kind images of the commons. The paper collects the English translations of keywords related to chivalric spirits and describes the reconstruction of chivalric images of both the knight-errants and the commons. It explores the representation effects of Chinese chivalric images in English-speaking world and identifies the reasons from the perspectives of author, translator and publisher. The findings reveal that the translator mainly adopts literal translation and addition to achieve proper-representation or over-representation of Chinese chivalric images, and then to further promote Chinese chivalric culture.
