陈映真作品在当代英语世界译介历程简述——由《陈映真全集·著作年表》的疏误说起

摘　　要：2017年台湾人间出版社编纂的《陈映真全集》,贡献极大。其中《著作年表》全面整理与系统考校陈映真的著述轨迹,并首次正式呈现作品的翻译出版情况。但是在迄今唯一的陈映真小说英译专集《在家流亡》的出版时间上存有疏误。陈映真作品在当代英语世界的翻译可以追溯至1976年小说《第一件差事》的英译发表。1980年代初期,有4篇小说(除去重复)收录在重要的文学选集与翻译杂志中,其中学者刘绍铭较早注意到陈映真作品独特的社会历史价值,给予力荐。1986年米乐山的《在家流亡》出版问世,译者米乐山不仅肯定陈映真作品的社会意义,而且更关注其作品的美学特点。1990年代以来,陈映真作品的英译活动陷入低潮,似乎只有《山路》备受译者的青睐。近年来,中国台湾学者陈光兴等共同主编的《亚际文化研究》制作了陈映真的作品翻译计划,希望再次推动其作品与思想在英语世界的传播与阅读。A Complete Collection of Works by Chen Ying-zhen, published in 2017 by Renjian Publishing House in Taiwan, is a great contribution. The bibliography in it is a comprehensive arrangement and systematic annotation of Chen Ying-zhen’s written traces and, for the first time, officially presents the case on the translation of his works. However, there are errors in relation to the time of publication of his Exiles at Home, the only collection of his short stories in English translation.Chen Ying-zhen’s work in English translation can be traced back to the publication in English of his story,‘The First Errand,’in 1976, in the English-speaking world. In the early 1980s, there were 4 short stories included in important literary anthologies and translation magazines, of which Liu Shaoming the scholar was early in paying attention to the unique social and historical value of Chen’s work and giving a powerful recommendation. In 1986 when Exiles at Home was published, Mi Leshan the translator not only was positive about the social significance of Chen’s work but was also more concerned with its aesthetic features. Since the 1990s, Chen Ying-zhen’s work experienced an all-time low in English translation except for his‘The Mountain Road’that seems to command the readers’ attention. In recent years, Chen Kuan-Hsing, a Taiwan Residents scholar, along with others, co-edited Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, that made a plan to translate Chen’s work, hopefully to get his work and thought to be propagated and read in the English-speaking world.
