摘 要:《红楼梦》是中国古典文学的巅峰,其回目创作达到了极高的艺术水准。与其他章回小说相比,《红楼梦》的回目不但结构整齐,对仗工整,而且浑然天成,富有诗意。然而,这种言有尽而意无穷的表达也给翻译造成了巨大的困难。本文拟从文化空缺视角,对《红楼梦》帕纳秀克1995年译本的回目翻译策略进行分析和评价,以期对中国古典文学及学术著作外译有所助益。As The Dream of the Red Chamberhas been widely acknowledged as the pinnacle of Chinese classic literature, the creation of its chapter titles has also reached fairly high level of art.Compared with other Chinese chapter-styled classical novels, the chapter titles ofThe Dream of the Red Chamberare not only neatly constructed with paired phrases, but also equipped with a natural form and a poetical sense, which leads to a great trouble in translation that their words are limited but meanings infinite. From the perspective of cultural vacancy, the author of this thesis is going to analyze and comment on the translation strategy of chapter titles in V. A.Panasyuk’s version ofThe Dream of the Red Chamberin 1995, which will benefit the translation of Chinese classical literature and academic treatises.
