In order to study the feasibility of speed increasing for a heavy haul railway with 10 000 t trains in China, the simulation and experimental study on the dynamic interaction characteristics of wheel-rail were carried out when the train passes through different line conditions. The dynamic analysis model of 10 000 t heavy haul freight train running on the line was established, and the influence of different running speeds on the wheel-rail dynamic interaction under various working conditions such as no-load,full load, straight line and curve passing was calculated and analyzed. The speed-up dynamic test was carried out on the 10 000 t heavy haul train to test the dynamic interaction characteristics of wheel-rail when the heavy haul train passes through at an increasing speed. The results show that the wheel-rail dynamic interaction of the 10 000 t heavy haul train increases with the increase of the vehicle running speed, and the wheel-rail interaction in the curve line section is more intense, but both are less than the safety standard limit and have a certain safety margin.
