汉语重叠与其英译双重对比研究--以《西游记》和两译本为例

摘　　要：翻译、语言与思维的关系一直是国内外翻译学、语言学乃至哲学研究的重要课题。翻译作为联结不同语言的桥梁成为洞察民族思维方式的重要途径。文章首先对汉语重叠及其英译进行对比,然后对汉英语民族不同译者的译本进行再对比,试图发现汉语重叠与其英译及不同译本之间的异同,尤其是异,进而解释其形成的内在动因,力图揭示汉英语言的本质属性,最终窥视语言与思维之间的关系。研究发现,英译中“叠式”翻译和“对式”翻译缺乏以及汉语民族译者译本中“叠式”翻译和“对式”翻译相对较多体现出汉语的强空间性特征,折射出汉语民族的强空间性思维特质倾向。The relationship between translation,language and thinking has always been an important topic in the fields of translation studies,linguistics and even philosophy all around the world.Translation,as a bridge connecting different languages,has become a powerful tool to probe into the particular way of thinking characteristic of a nation.This study first contrasts the Chinese reduplicatives and their translation,then contrasts the two English versions from Chinese and English translators respectively,and tries to find out the inherent similarities and differences between Chinese and English,especially the differences.Furthermore,it explains the internal motivation beneath it,reveals the essential attributes of the two languages,and finally peep into the true face of the relationships between language and thought.The study finds that the lack of the“reduplicatives”and“equivalences”in English translation and their relatively higher proportions from the Chinese translator embody the trait of strong spatiality in Chinese,which reflect the strong spatiality of the Chinese people.
