摘　　要：作为一门学问的歌德学源于德国,它要求研究者从语文学和思想史的角度来研究歌德的文本和思想。中国歌德学发端于宗白华、郭沫若和田汉的《三叶集》,经过五代学人的不懈努力,在21世纪进入蓬勃发展的阶段。五代学人各有其独特贡献:宗白华开创了美学视角的歌德研究,冯至在方法论上奠定了中国歌德学的坚实基础,杨武能增进了国人对歌德的理解,王炳钧带来了新理论与新方法,叶隽则以跨学科和东西方对话的大视野梳理了歌德学学术史。从总体上看,中国歌德学呈现出学术性逐渐增强的进步趋势。Goethe study originated in Germany,which demands that scholars should study Goethe’s texts and thoughts from the perspective of philology and the history of ideas.The Goethe study in China began with Three Leaves written by Zong Baihua,Guo Moruo and Tian Han,and has reached a peak in the 21th century by unremitting efforts of five generations.Scholars of five generations have made their special contribution to Goethe study in China:Zong Baihua studied Goethe from an aesthetic angle;Feng Zhi laid the methodical foundations of academic research;Yang Wuneng promoted the understanding of Goethe;Wang Bingjun brought new theories and methods into China;and Ye Jun cleared up the academic history by doing interdisciplinary research.In summary,the Goethe study in China has made a progress.
