摘　　要：同治初年,甘肃社会动荡、文化凋敝,书院教育日渐走向衰落。陕甘总督左宗棠在其“化民”思想的指导下,积极扶持甘肃各地兴办书院、宣传儒家文化,推动了甘肃书院教育在同治末、光绪初年的复兴,对近代甘肃文化教育事业作出了不可磨灭的贡献。Academy education declined day by day in Gansu Province as the result of social turbulence and cultural depression in the early years of the reign of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty.Zuo Zongtang,Governor of Shanxi and Gansu Provinces,actively supported the establishment of academies and publicized the Confucian education under the guidance of his idea of“Moralizing Civilians”,which promoted the revival of academy education in Gansu Province from the end of the reign of Tongzhi to the beginning of the reign of Guangxu.He made indelible contributions to the culture and education of modern Gansu Province.
