陶瓷典籍术语英译中的文化建构与传播——以《陶说》为例

摘　　要：我国首部陶瓷领域专著《陶说》详尽介绍历朝陶瓷制作工艺、名物制度与鉴别方法,内含丰富古典科技术语。本文梳理卜士礼《陶说》英译本的陶瓷术语体系,从术语学视角分析其英译,探究其所建构的译本形象,揭示陶瓷典籍术语英译对陶瓷文化西传的影响。研究表明,译者在保证术语科学性的前提下建立译本内学科术语系统,建构具有学术研究价值的陶瓷领域工具书;虽单义性的模糊与简明性的舍弃限制艺术文化传播与文献传承,但陶瓷典籍译作富有科学性与实践性,以陶瓷研究与品鉴为桥梁,古人科技文明与知识经验得以在海外广泛传播。Tao Shuo,the chief authority on Chinese ceramics,comprehensively explains crafts of porcelain,specimens through dynasties,manufacture system,and authentication methods.Based on Bushell' s English translation,this research summarizes ceramic terms in Tao Shuo and analyzes their translation from the perspective of terminology to reveal the images of translation and their impact on the dissemination of ceramic culture.The result shows that the translator establishes a disciplinary terminology system on the premise of ensuring the scientific nature of terms,thereby constructing an image of ceramic reference book with academic value.In spite of limitations caused by terminology ambiguity and complexity,the practically and academically oriented translation plays an essential role in deepening international recognition of Chinese ceramics and disseminating Chinese culture abroad.
