教师性别对学生学习成绩的影响——基于师生性别匹配视角的研究

摘　　要：在我国基础教育领域以女性教师为主以及女生学习成绩优于男生的背景下,师生性别匹配会对学生的学业发展产生何种影响,其影响机制是什么,都是有价值的理论和现实问题。使用中国教育追踪调查(CEPS)的两期调查数据,在保证同一学校内随机分配教师的情况下,分析了师生性别匹配对学生学习成绩的影响及其影响机制。研究发现:首先,师生性别匹配对男生的学习成绩没有影响,但对女生有积极影响。其次,只有在英语学科上,女性教师对女生成绩的影响显著大于对男生成绩的影响。再次,在处于相对劣势地位的学生群体中,师生性别匹配对女生的积极影响更为明显。最后,相较于男生,女性教师会向女生提供更多的学业支持和情感支持,可能是导致女性教师任课有利于女生的一个原因。因此,基础教育阶段以女性教师为主的现象在一定程度上可以解释学生学习成绩的性别差异,但不会对男生的学习成绩产生不利影响。同时,应在公共教育资源的配置中更关注弱势学生群体,并注重培育支持性的师生关系以发挥教师支持对学生发展的积极作用。Based on the Chinese Education Panel Survey(CEPS)data,this article estimates the effect of the teacher-student gender matches on students’academic outcomes.We find that:firstly,teachers’gender has no effect on boys’academic outcomes,but teacher-student gender matches have a positive effect on girls,especially in English.Secondly,girls with low cognitive ability,agricultural registered residence and studying in non-central urban schools are more likely to be affected by female teachers.Finally,compared to boys,female teachers will provide girls with more academic and emotional support,which may be a reason for female teachers to be more conducive to girls.Therefore,the truth that females comprise the majority of teachers can partly explain the gender differences in academic achievements,but will not affect boys’academic performance.More attention should be paid to disadvantaged students in the allocation of public education resources,and the culitivation of supportive teacher-student relationship to make use of the positive role of teacher support in students’development.
