略论美国高中历史教科书中的古代中国形象——以McGraw-Hill版《世界历史》为例

摘　　要：历史教科书是一个国家对其民众进行历史教育的重要载体,在自身国家形象建构及以“自我”视觉叙写他国历史的过程中扮演着重要角色。美国高中历史教科书《世界历史》(McGraw-Hill版)中涉及中国古代历史的内容,是我们了解美国“自我”视角下叙写古代中国历史的重要参考。本文通过对该教科书所涉古代中国内容的译介和分析,管窥美国中学历史教科书中对于古代中国形象的建构与塑造,有助于我们清晰地了解其在认识中国古代历史时的关注点和着眼点,从而为我们更具针对性地制定中国形象传播策略,推动国家文化软实力建设,以更加积极主动的姿态传播中国话语、宣传中国形象、讲好中国故事提供思路。History textbooks are important vehicles for national historical education.They play fundamental roles in constructing its own national image and composing other countries’history from self-perspective.World History,the McGraw-Hill edition of the U.S.high school history textbook,contains many ancient Chinese histories,which offer significant clues for us to understand the U.S.perspective.By analyzing ancient Chinese history described in the textbook,this paper perceives the shaping and construction of ancient Chinese image in the U.S.,which helps us clearly understand its major focus.This certainly will facilitate us to design better propagating strategy,raise our sof-power,and provide better ideas for us to spread the Chinese voice,propagate the Chinese image,and tell good Chinese stories more actively.
