摘 要:伊丽莎白一世在继位伊始,就对英格兰的教堂音乐问题作出明文规定,但不想此举不仅没能收到应有成效,反倒引发出一系列旷日持久的激烈争论。相关议题不时出现在宗教会议与议会辩论之中,甚至还在16世纪末扩大至整个社会舆论层面。这一现象从侧面反映出伊丽莎白一世时期英国社会中潜藏的宗教与政治矛盾,也折射出清教文化在都铎王朝时期思想观念领域所具有的根本冲突。在此过程中,音乐已逐步从单纯的教会礼仪演变成反映宗教与精神内核的媒介,并对当时的教堂音乐实践、音乐观乃至近代早期的英格兰思想文化产生至关重要的影响。Although Queen Elizabeth I had issued explicit rules soon after her succession,there remained a lasting debate on church music in England.The dispute emerged not only in the convocation,but in the parliament debate as well,then it engendered public debates at the end of sixteenth century.The controversy partly reflected the conflicts between the religion and politics under the reign of Queen Elizabeth.Furthermore,it reflects the fundamental conflict that existed in the ideological realm during the Tudor dynasty between the Puritan culture and other beliefs.During this process,music gradually evolved from a simple church ceremony to a medium for expressing religious and spiritual ideas.This evolution had greatly influenced the practice of church music,the contemporary outlook on music and the pattern of music culture in early modern England.
