摘  要:Described herein is a palladium-catalyzed decarbonylative methylation of aryl carboxylic acids using tri-methylboroxine(TMB)as the methylating reagent.The Pd(OAc)_(2)/XantPhos system is compatible with a wide range of carboxylic acids and derivatives including aroyl chloride/fluoride.The successful methylation of bio-active molecules and examples of orthogonal cross-couplings demonstrate the practicality of this method.
