摘  要:研究选用我国大学英语四级考试中的汉英翻译题,对某独立学院的60位非英语专业本科生进行测试,通过对其错误进行分类、统计和分析,同时通过测试后的调查问卷以及录音采访收集了较为全面的数据和反馈信息,编制图表并对其进行量化和质化分析,力图揭示被试的汉英翻译思维特点和错误成因。研究发现:学生做汉译英时通常在心理词汇中慌忙寻找形式上的对应词或干脆用汉语拼音代替英语词语,表现出明显的逃避或蒙混心理,而此思维特点的主要原因是词汇量小和语法基础薄弱。研究结果有助于减少学生做汉译英时的紧张心理并能提高学生翻译速度和质量。In this study,60 non-English majors in an independent college were tested with a real C-E translation passage from the CET-4.By classifying,calculating and analyzing the errors they made in the test,and by collecting data and feedback information as much as possible through post-test questionnaires and follow-up interviews,quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted in order to reveal the characteristics and causes of the subjects'thinking activities while engaged in the C-E translation task.It is found that when students did the C-E translation,they usually got into a panic trying to find seemingly equivalent expressions in their mental lexicon or simply using Chinese pinyin replace English words or phrases,which shows that there is an obvious mentality of evading difficulties and or glossing over mistakes.The main cause of such thinking characteristics of C-E translation lies in their limited vocabulary and low grammatical awareness.Through comprehensive analyses of the results of this empirical study,the author proposes some suggestions for college English teachers to help reduce students'nervousness when they do C-E translation and improve the speed and quality of their translation.
