心智哲学视角下反语的英译研究

摘　　要：反语受到社会文化语境的制约,反语的字面意义和说话人的实际意图相反。本文试图研究如何正确理解反语并恰当翻译才能被目的语读者接受,并基于心智哲学视角下语言运用双重结构的假设,提出反语的翻译标准是心理属性对等。心理属性随附于物理属性,在与语境的相互作用下,涌现出感受质。反语翻译过程就是源语到目的语的格式塔转换。通过案例分析,发现根据感受质的相似或相异性,译者可选择不同的翻译策略,例如感受质保留、感受质舍弃、感受质转换和感受质增补。Under the constraints of social and cultural contexts,the literal meaning of irony is opposite to the actual intention of the speaker.This paper attempts to study how to accurately understand the irony in the source language,properly translate it,and make it accepted by the target language readers based on the hypothesis of Dual Structure of Language Use from the perspective of philosophy of mind.The mental property is supervenient on physical property,which,in interaction with context,results in emergence of qualia.The process of irony translation is transformation of gestalt from source language to target language.Through case analysis,it is found that based on similarity or difference of qualia,the translator can choose different translation strategies such as qualia retention,qualia deletion,qualia transformation and qualia addition.
