Xiang"(image)is the most essential philosophical concept in the philosophy of the Book of Changes. The Dao of Yi is manifested by images and accomplished by images.Without the image of Yi,there is no Yi Dao,so the image is exactly the Dao and the Dao is exactly image. As an original and true existence,Yi image has three characteristics:"non-substance","non-objective",and"non ready-made"The characteristic of non-substance of Yi image means that it is not a existence, but a state of all possibilities displayed through the interaction and changes of yin and yang. The thing it presents is the thing itself, and we do not need to inquire about the thing behind Yi image. The non-objective characteristic of Yi image means that image is no longer an independent and observable object, but a current situation. What it conveys to us is not about"what",but"how",that is,the wisdom of how to integrate into the world for better survival. The non ready-made characteristic of Yi image means that it does not manifest as a ready-made and fixed concept, but rather takes human life experience as the starting point, integrating the transcendent and not detached ultimate existence into the process of daily life.
