摘  要:博士生资格考试是美国大学博士培养中重要的把关环节,也是保障博士教育质量和效率的独特方式。美国博士生资格考试通过考查学生在专业领域内的知识水平和学术能力,判断其是否具备继续攻读博士学位和撰写博士学位论文的能力,从而筛选适合从事学术研究的人才。以加州大学洛杉矶分校为个案,通过介绍其博士生资格考试的目的、内容和方式,分析资格考试在博士生培养中所发挥的作用,探讨美国博士生资格考试制度的特点及经验,以期为我国建立规范的博士生中期考核制度和程序、落实中期考核制度分流淘汰及育人功能提供借鉴。Doctoral qualifying examination is an essetial screening process to guarantee the quality and efficiency of the training of doctoral students in American universities.By assessing students'knowledge and academic competence in their specialized fields,the doctoral qualifying examination is employed to determine whether students have the ability to pursue doctoral programs and complete their dissertations,so as to screen qualified personnel suitable for academic research.Taking the doctoral qualifying examination of the University of California,Los Angeles(UCLA)as a case study,this paper introduces the purposes,contents and modes of the examination,analyzes the role it plays in the training of doctoral students,and discusses the characteristics and experiences of the American doctoral qualifying examination system,in order to provide implications for establishing a more standardized doctoral mid-term examination system and fulfilling the screening and educational functions of such a system in China.
