摘 要:教育家是一种历史性存在,教育家精神则是一种文化性存在。任何一个民族都会在历史当中产生对自己民族有重要影响的教育家,但每一种文化都塑造出了独有的教育家性格。教育家既是对教育有深刻洞见的思想者,也是在实践当中拥有卓越技能的行动者。思想性和实践性构成了教育家的质性规定。然而,在中国文化中,教育家之为教育家不仅在于思想之深刻、技能之娴熟,更在于其伦理之品格。教育家的实践是一种伦理性实践,伦理构成了中国教育家的精神规定。教育家精神因为这种伦理规定而形成了三位一体的精神谱系:在与学生的关系上,教育家精神体现为坚守道德自律、乐教爱生的仁爱精神;在与教育的关系上,体现为以思想洞见和实践智慧献身教育的志业精神;在与国家的关系上,体现为心系民族国家、勇于责任担当的爱国精神。但弘扬教育家精神不仅仅是对少数教育家群体的肯定和鼓励,更是要让教育家精神体现在每一个教师身上,并抛洒在日常的教育世界之中。Educators are historical beings,while educators'spirit is a cultural being.Every nation has its own educators who have had a significant impact on its history,but every culture shapes the character of its educators uniquely.Educators are both thinkers with deep insights into education and doers with excellent skills in practice.The nature of thoughts and practice constitute the qualitative requirements of an educator.However,in Chinese culture,what makes an educator an educator is not only his or her depth of thoughts and skills,but also his or her ethical character.The practice of an educator is the one with ethics which constitutes the spiritual provision of the Chinese educator.Because of this ethical requirement,the spirit of educator has formed a trinity of spiritual spectrum:in the educator-student relationship,the spirit of educators is embodied in their benevolence with moral self-discipline and loving teaching and students;in the educator-education relationship,the spirit of educators is embodied in their dedication to education with insight and practical wisdom;in the educator-nation relationship,the spirit of educators is embodied in their patriotism with the caring for nation and country and being brave in taking responsibilities.However,the promotion of the spirit of educators is not only to affirm and encourage a small group of educators,but also to reflect the spirit of educators in every teacher,and in the daily educational world.
