摘　　要：1920-1921年,英国著名汉学家阿瑟·韦利在《伯灵顿杂志》上发表了《中国艺术哲学》系列论文,译介了谢赫、王维、张彦远、郭熙、董其昌等重要艺术评论家及其画论,是西方较早集中阐释中国艺术哲学的重要成果。韦利的中国艺术哲学研究有其突出特色,一是以准确、流畅的英文翻译了大量中国画论原文,匡正了前人的误解、误译,突破了以往学界深受日本学者观念影响的困境;二是将不同时期的中国艺术名家及其画论置于中国历史、思想史、哲学史的框架内予以阐释,清晰呈现中国古典艺术发展的脉络。韦利的研究推动了中国艺术哲学在西方的接受和传播,并深刻影响了弗莱、庞德等英美现代主义者的思想和创作,具有重要的意义和价值。From 1920 to 1921,Arthur Waley,a famous British Sinologist,published a series of papers on“Chinese Philosophy of Art”in The Burlington Magazine for Connoisseurs,translated and introduced Xie He,Wang Wei,Zhang Yanyuan,Guo Xi,Dong Qichang and other important art critics and their painting theories,which is an important achievement of the early concentrated interpretation of Chinese philosophy of art.Waley’s research on Chinese art philosophy has its outstanding features.First,he translated a large number of original texts of Chinese painting theory in accurate and fluent English,corrected some misunderstandings and mistranslations of the predecessors,and broke through the predicament that the academic circle was deeply influenced by the ideas of Japanese scholars.The second is to interpret famous Chinese artists and their painting theories in the framework of Chinese history,intellectual history,and philosophical history,clearly presenting the development of Chinese classical art.His research has promoted the acceptance and dissemination of Chinese art philosophy in the West,and has profoundly influenced the thinking and creation of British and American modernists such as Roger Fry and Ezra Pound,which is of great significance and value.
