摘　　要：《美国》是弗兰兹·卡夫卡的第一部长篇小说,也是他最著名的三大小说之一。1938年,苏格兰的埃德温·缪尔缪尔夫妇将《美国》翻译成英语出版。他们的译介获得了普遍的认可,许多非德语国家都是通过他们的译本来认识这部小说的。但由于自身语言能力以及历史语境等因素的影响,尤其是基于《美国》“校勘版”底本的译本出版后,缪尔夫妇的译介也引起了不少争议。探析缪尔夫妇对《美国》的译介、阐释与影响,不仅能呈现这部小说在英语世界的传播与接受,也有助于拓展我国卡夫卡研究的图景。America is the fi rst novel written by Franz Kafka and it is regarded as one of his three most famous novels.In 1938,the Muirs from Scotland translated this novel into English for publication.Their version is universally recognized,and many non-German-speaking countries learn about the novel through their version.However,due to the infl uence of their own language ability and historical context,especially after the publication of the translation based on the Critical Editions of America,the Muirs’translation has also caused a lot of controversy.Exploring the Muirs’translation,interpretation,and infl uence on America can not only present the spread and reception of this novel in the English-speaking world,but also contribute to expand the picture of studieson Kafka in China.
