摘 要:在当代英国戏剧家哈罗德·品特的戏剧《归家》中,剧中人广泛使用暴力、粗鄙的语言并采取颠覆传统道德观念的行为,与文明社会的正常生活方式格格不入,文中的女主人公在婚姻的情感生活中上下求索而不知何处是归宿,最终沦陷在社会所编织的堕落的罗网里。对于该部作品,大多数学者关注到的是其荒诞性和女性主义主题,但却鲜有学者注意到剧作的表现方式,也就是剧中广泛运用的负面审美艺术——审丑的艺术。文学是隐喻的世界,作者试图用荒诞的手法撕开现实的丑陋,以审丑的方式展示了社会生活的荒诞性,以此来隐喻西方男权社会中的男女不平等关系,折射出他的两性观及其对当代社会生活中女性境遇的关注与同情。In modern British dramatist Harold Pinter's drama The Homecoming,aesthetics of the ugliness is embodied throughout the play,in which Harold Pinter presents the absurdity of social life in an artistically ugly way through showcasing the characters possessing considerable harsh and vulgar language as well as the behavior that subverts traditional moral concepts,which is contrary to the normal life style of civilized society.The heroine in the story searches up and down in the emotional life of marriage without knowing where to go,and finally falls into the net of depravation woven by society.For this play,most scholars pay attention to its absurdity and feminist themes,but few scholars pay attention to the way of the play,that is,the negative aesthetic art widely used in the play—the art of examining ugliness.Besides,literature is a metaphorical world.Harold Pinter utilizes metaphor to describe the unequal relationship between males and females in the western patriarchal society by exposing the ugliness.It reflects his view on gender and his concern and sympathy for adverse circumstances of women in contemporary social life.
