Chinese people's view of landscape stems from the admiration of the natural beauty. While admiring the"nature is of great beauty and silence",the ancients infiltrated the concept of landscape into the creation of their living environment, which is a"local identity"shaped by"collective memory"in the long-term interaction between people and landscape, and reflected in a certain spatial structure in ancient and modern construction activities. The image of"immortal mountain pavilions"originated from ancient myths, reflecting the ancestors'worship and reverence of nature,as well as their desire for health and longevity, and has accumulated over the ages, becoming a classic image in Chinese literature, painting and gardening. In this paper, the study of"Haishan Immortal Hall",a historical garden located in the mudflats along the Pearl River, will be taken as an entry point to illustrate the regional expression and interpretation of the"Immortal Mountain Pavilions"imagery in Guangdong, and analyze the germination of its spatial prototypes, the establishment of its spatial patterns, and its evolutions. The introduction of the image schema concept facilitates the shift from material entities to the logical cognition of spatial structure, and is instructive in exploring the inheritance and contemporary translation of traditional spatial patterns.
