周敦颐《通书》英译的深度翻译策略——以陈荣捷译本为例

摘　　要：深度翻译策略对中国典籍翻译具有重要的指导意义。陈荣捷在翻译周敦颐《通书》过程中运用了多种深度翻译方法,主要包括文内注释、章节评述、脚注、导读、序言与前言、附录等,其深度翻译策略具有服务译文读者、传播中国文化和促进学术研究的价值,能为中国文化外译提供借鉴和参考。Thick translation theory is significant in guiding the translation of Chinese classics.This paper describes the thick translation methods Chan Wing-Tsit adopted in the translation of Zhou Dunyi’s Tongshu,or Penetrating the Book of Changes,which includes annotations,comments,footnotes,introductions,forwards and prefaces,appendices,etc.It points out that Chan Wing-Tsit’s thick translation strategies have the value of serving the target readers,spreading Chinese culture and promoting academic research,and it is expected to provide suggestions and reference for the translation of traditional Chinese culture.
