摘 要:文化符号是塑造国家形象、提升软实力的有力工具之一。“龙”作为中国传统文化中非常重要的符号象征,在文化传播过程中存在被误读等问题。考察其他国家过去对“龙”的认知变化及其影响因素有助于总结文化传播的经验,助力国家形象的构塑。该研究从谷歌图书数据库中提取20世纪美国报纸对“龙”的报道,自建语料库,基于语料库语言学与话语分析的方法,从实证角度探索20世纪美国报纸对“龙”的解读。研究发现,美国报纸对中国“龙”象征意义的误读是变化的、动态的,并受多种因素影响。Cultural symbols are one of the powerful tools to shape the national image and enhance the soft power.As a very important symbol in Chinese traditional culture,“dragon”has been misunderstood in the process of cultural communication.Examining the past cognitive changes of“dragon”in other countries and their influencing factors will help to summarize the experience of cultural communication and help to shape the national image.This study extracts the reports of the 20th century American newspapers on the“dragon”from the Google Books database,and builds a corpus.Based on the methods of corpus linguistics and discourse analysis,this study explores the interpretation of the“dragon”in the 20th century American newspapers from an empirical perspective.The study found that the misunderstanding of the symbolic meaning of Chinese“dragon”in American newspapers is changing,dynamic,and influenced by many factors.
