摘　　要：《高级英语》这门专业核心课程承担着思政育人的重任。本文以张翰熙版《马克·吐温:美国社会的一面镜子》一文为例,挖掘教材蕴含的思政资源。马克·吐温一生遭受家庭悲剧的重重打击,依然成长为世界文学巨匠。这离不开他坚持学习、勤于思考、勇于批判、坚强面对人生苦难的品质,这些品质可以开发成为思政育人资源。背景知识中的西进运动和《排华方案》是优秀的爱国主义教育资源。教师可以通过提问、讨论、思维导图、课堂展示等方式实现思政育人目标。As a core professional course for English majors,Advanced English bears the responsibility of ideological and political education.This article takes“Mark Twain:Mirror of America”,an article of the course from the version compiled by professor Zhang Hanxi as an example and explores the rich resources in the textbook for ideological and political education.Mark Twain dropped out from school at an early age,repeatedly hit by profound family tragedies throughout his lifetime,yet he managed to establish himself as an world-acclaimed literary giant.His growth and achievements are inseparable from his perseverance in learning,critical thinking and resilience in face of hardships,which are useful resources for ideological and political education when fully tapped.The Westward Expansion and The Chinese Exclusion Act mentioned in the article are also excellent resources for patriotic education.This article also suggests various class activities like classroom questioning,discussion,mind-map assignment and class presentation,for ideological and political education.
