摘 要:科幻小说《黑暗的左手》诞生于美苏冷战时期,作者厄休拉·勒奎恩在书中对“道之合一”的东方神秘主义思想极为推崇,影射了她对当时世界“二元对立”冷战格局的深刻反思。然而,勒奎恩也在一定程度上误读和背离了东方神秘主义,使小说的隐性深处呈现出西方神秘主义的特质,从而无法真正破除二元对立格局,实现主客相融的“道之合一”。解读勒奎恩作品中的东方神秘主义有助于消解二元对立、推动世界走向“道之合一”的命运共同体,而勒奎恩对道家神秘主义的误读同样也从侧面警惕人们陷入“表面合一,隐性对立”之陷阱。The Left Hand of Darkness was published in 1969, when the world was witnessing the cold war between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. In the novel, Ursula Le Guin highly praises the Eastern mysticism, i.e., the thought of “unity with the Tao”, as an antidote to the Western duality thought behind the cold war. However, Le Guin also misreads and deviates from the Eastern mysticism to a certain extent, as the novel implicitly endorses Western mysticism, so that the duality could not be really broken, nor could the “unity with the Tao” be achieved. A critical reading of Le Guin's novel will clarify how “unity with the Tao” can bring an end to the duality thought and thus help promote the construction of a community of common destiny. The exposition of Le Guin's misreading of Taoist mysticism can also help us to see the trap of duality in disguise of unity.
