摘 要:反讽是文学的重要表现手段。作为一名批判现实主义小说家,萨克雷的《名利场》因其高超叙事和反讽技巧而不断受到人们的关注与探索,也一直是学术界研究的热点之一。1957年,杨必完成了《名利场》首个中文全译本的翻译工作,此译本至今仍流传不衰。从词法、句法、篇章三个层面全面分析《名利场》杨必译本的反讽翻译策略,译者在翻译过程中采用了正说反译、调整语序、巧译修辞等方法,起到反讽的效果,成功地再现原作的美学特点,达到翻译的预期目的。Irony is an important means of expression in literature.As a critical realist novelist,Thackeray showcases his superb narrative and irony skills in Vanity Fair,which has got people’s constant concern and exploration,and thus has been one of the hot spots in academic research.In 1957,Yang Bi completed the fi rst Chinese translation of Vanity Fair,which is still unfailingly popular today.This paper analyzes the ironic translation strategies in Yang Bi's version of Vanity Fair in terms of morphology,syntax and text.In the process of translation,he adopts such methods as translation from the opposite side,word order adjustment and clever translation rhetoric to achieve the eff ect of irony,successfully reproduces the aesthetic characteristics of the original work,and achieves the intented purpose of translation.
